you don't mess with the zohan- do you really want to tho?

adam sandler is a pretty funny guy.. no doubt. he made you laugh with "big daddy," "water boy", and "50 first dates".. and my all time favorite- "wedding singer." so when "don't mess with the zohan" came out.. i was excited but leary. reason being.. it didn't look that promising? a hairdresser kicking ass or something.. i don't really get the point. but nevertheless, i went to see what it was about. i went with low expectations and because of this.. i thought it was good. it was much better than i thought. i was annoyed that sandler had a fake accent the whole time.. he was from some other country. he was kind of like a hancock figure.. indestructible. he was very matrix-ee, jumping from wall to wall, and doing that in the air kung-fu thing. it was semi-funny. after fighting for his country, he decided he wanted to move to the U.S. to become a hairdresser like paul mitchell. funny? off the wall? ok that's what sandler is all about. so i try and follow this story.. his parents laugh and him and give him no support in his hairdressing dreams.. so he moves anyway.. by way of plane in cargo with animals... and goes to the paul mitchell salon with a haircut he did himself.. copying off the only hair book he had.. the hairstyle was a 70s look. the salon laughed at him.. and he proceeded to fulfill his dreams and found a latino salon that he got a job sweeping up hair at.. later one of the hairdressers are out sick or something so the lady gives sandler a chance at bat. he does an amazing job.. and even finishes with a "dessert-like" feature. he has sex with all his client.. young or old... and when i say old i'm talking grandma old. it's pretty gross which makes it only mildly funny. the movie progresses with some sort of story line that is easy to follow and semi-interesting. it wasn't horrible... was definitely NOT sandler's better roles.. and you will prob have an OK time seeing it.. best bet, wait until its on DVD. it's something you probably will only need to see once. take the hint.
